Chamber Music Festival

Dear Festival Public!

This is the 9th year of our Chamber Music Festival at Bygdøy, Oslo. We’re continuing to build on the format we’ve been developing since 2011: A classical music festival highlighting outstanding chamber music works, from the Baroque to the contemporary.

We are proud to announce that we will be joined again this year by the foremost Norwegian string virtuoso – Arve Tellefsen. Something to look forward to!

We are happy to have Ernst Simon Glaser and his cello with us once again. Five years older than last time he joined us, he is one of Norway’s most prominent musicians. In addition, we have the pleasure of introducing the British cellist, Thomas Carroll. Besides being an old friend of Julie’s from their time together at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he is in the midsts of a remarkable career, both as a soloist and as a chamber music performer. We are also proud and happy to introduce yet another member of our expanding, Scandinavian musical “family”, the Danish violinist, Philippe B. Skow. Recently, he and Julie put out a CD together of Scandinavian music.

The other news this year is that members of David and Julie’s Atlanta “fan club” will be crossing the Great Waters together to attend the Festival. That pleases Julie and David no end, and it also brings extra happiness to those of us who appreciate the festival – its existence and its future.

Once again: Welcome to the Festival!
